Eligibility Criteria

Reminder of the Eligibility Criteria

Process of narrowing down from 700-500 registered participants during the attractiveness campaign to 150 project holders for the 1st cohort of the "Algerian Agripreneurs" cycle, to benefit from ideation and implementation support

Step 1: Application of eligibility criteria, namely

  • Labelled innovative project holders.
  • Labelled startups in Agrobusiness/Agritech.
  • Holders of brief, concrete, and/or advanced ideas that are not yet labelled.
  • Under 40 years old with an idea in Agrobusiness/Agritech.
  • Individuals or teams.
  • Public sector employees, teams from public institutes, and existing companies are not eligible.

Step 2: Application of Objective and Systematic Criteria

If the number of applicants remains significantly higher than 150 after the first step, additional filtering criteria will be applied as follows:

1st Level: Initial Filtering

Selection based on idea development stage:

  • 50% holders of brief project ideas.
  • 30% holders of concrete project ideas.
  • 20% holders of advanced project ideas.

2nd Level: Team vs. Individual Selection

If the number of applicants remains too high after the first level, the following ratio is applied:

  • 70% project holders working in teams.
  • 30% individual project holders.

3rd Level: Academic Background

If further selection is needed, the ratio is adjusted to:

  • 50% non-university project holders.
  • 50% university project holders.

4th Level: Gender Balance

If the number of applicants still exceeds 150, a gender balance is ensured (As much as possible):

50% women.                                   50% men.

Note: If necessary, additional filtering levels may be applied to refine the selection further.
